Death toll rises after Kharkiv shelling
Russian forces shelled Kharkiv once again today. As a result of the attack, 9 people were killed, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the Kharkiv Prosecutor's Office.
"The body of the 9th victim was found between the destroyed house and the garage. Preliminarily, it is the body of a woman," law enforcement officials said.
The prosecutor's office said that the woman was most likely thrown out of her apartment into the street and covered by the structures of the destroyed entrance during a direct missile hit.
"As of now, we know about 9 dead as a result of the enemy shelling of Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv," said the head of the RMA.
Syniehubov said that among the dead were three women aged 39, 68, 86 and four men aged 52, 64, 41 and 28. According to him, rescuers found the bodies of two more victims this afternoon. Their identities are still being established.
This afternoon, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv.
