Death of US attache in Kyiv: State Department names preliminary data on cause
A representative of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, has confirmed the death of the US embassy's attaché in Kyiv. According to preliminary information, the diplomat, whose body was recently discovered at the Hilton Hotel, passed away from natural causes, according to the remarks from State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller at a briefing in Washington.
During a briefing with media representatives, he stated that the American side can confirm the death of a US government official who was subordinate to the mission chief at the embassy in Kyiv.
He also commented on the possible cause that led to the embassy attaché's death.
"He died of natural causes, and there's no sign of foul play," Miller said.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine learned from its sources that the body of a US embassy attaché in Ukraine was found in a room at the Hilton Hotel in Kyiv, reportedly on June 25th.
The American official had arrived in Ukraine on June 15th, and reports were suggesting he had elevated cholesterol levels.
The US Embassy in Kyiv confirmed information regarding the attaché's death. However, they declined to comment further on the matter, citing confidentiality concerns.
