Deadly night: Russian missiles and drones cause casualties in Ukraine
Occupants launched a combined attack on Ukraine during the night of June 14, using 'Kalibr' missiles and kamikaze drones, causing casualties and injuries in Odesa. RBC-Ukraine has compiled a report containing all the information about the outcomes of the overnight shelling.
Russia deployed 4 'Kalibr' missiles and kamikaze drones
According to the Southern Military District, Russian forces launched 4 cruise missiles of the 'Kalibr' type to attack Ukraine overnight. Two of them were intercepted by Ukrainian air defense systems over Odesa, other missiles reached their destination.
Monitoring groups have reported that the Russians used kamikaze drones during the night in the eastern and central regions of the country.
Odesa
Russian forces conducted a missile strike on Odessa during the night. As a result, 3 individuals were killed, and 13 others sustained injuries.
The missile hit a warehouse of one of the commercial networks, leading to the destruction of the warehouse and a fire covering an area of 400 square meters. Three warehouse employees were killed by the missile strike, and 7 others were injured. The rubble is currently being cleared, with a chance of people being found underneath.
The air battle and explosive shockwave caused damage to a business center, an educational institution, a residential complex, cafes, and shops in the city center. Preliminary reports indicate that 6 people have been injured.
Due to the work of investigative teams at the impact sites, a section of Shevchenko Avenue in Odesa has been temporarily closed to traffic.
Search and rescue operation in Odessa concluded
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 3 people were killed, and 13 were injured in the attack on Odessa.
"The victims are receiving both medical and psychological assistance. The search and rescue operation has concluded," the MIA said.
Kirovohrad region
The head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, Andriy Raikovych, reported that the occupants attacked the city of Svitlovodsk in the Oleksandriia district using kamikaze drones.
"Another night of mass attack by the Russian aggressor. Shakhed UAVs struck a critical infrastructure object in Svitlovodsk," he said.
According to the head of the RSA, the fire has been contained. No casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
Dnipropetrovsk region
According to Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, enemy forces launched UAVs towards the region during the night. However, all three Shakhed drones were destroyed in the sky above the region by the Eastern Joint Forces.
President's Office response
Andriy Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President, called for intensified sanctions against Russia and reminded that the aggressor is using missiles comprised of dozens of foreign components.
"Odesa. The Russians shelled the city with 'Kalibr' missiles. Civilians were killed. Each of these missiles contains no less than 40 foreign components. Russia would not be able to produce them without microelectronics. Sanctions need to be strengthened, particularly against those who assist the terrorist country in obtaining components for armaments," Yermak wrote.
According to the South Operations Command, Russia has increased the number of missile carriers in the Black Sea. The total salvo of 'Kalibr' missiles amounts to 20.
