In June 2025, Ukraine recorded the highest number of civilian casualties in the past three years of full-scale war with Russia. A total of 232 people were killed and another 1,343 were injured, according to a

According to the UN mission, last month the Russian army carried out ten times more missile strikes and loitering munition attacks compared to June 2024. Civilians were killed or injured in at least 16 regions and in Kyiv.

"Virtually no region of Ukraine was spared, regardless of its distance from the frontline," the HRMMU reported.

In the first half of 2025, the total number of civilian casualties in Ukraine reached 6,754 - an increase of 54% compared to the same period last year, when 4,381 casualties were documented.

Overall, over the past six months, the number of civilian deaths rose by 17%, while the number of those injured increased by 64%.

The sharp rise in Ukrainian fatalities is largely attributed to the use of long-range, high-powered missiles and drones, which have greater destructive power and are being used more frequently.

The report also notes that the expanded use of short-range drones has led to more fatal consequences in frontline communities.

In June, it was reported that according to the UN Mission, the number of Ukrainian civilians killed and injured during the first five months of 2025 increased by one and a half times compared to the same period in 2024. Russian attacks have become more deadly.
