Critical aircraft error halts Blinken departure from Davos
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was unable to fly home from Davos as planned on Wednesday due to a critical error in his plane, reports Bloomberg.
It is noted that after flying from Davos on helicopters and landing on a modified Boeing 737, Blinken and his group were informed that flights on the plane were deemed unsafe.
The previously detected oxygen leak could not be fixed. Therefore, Blinken could not fly home from Davos due to a critical error in his plane.
"A smaller jet was being flown from Brussels to ferry the top US diplomat home, while many of his aides and members of the press pool had to travel to Washington commercially," the article writes.
Boeing 737 MAX plane incidents
At the end of December 2023, Boeing Corporation discovered a weakened bolt in the rudder control system of 737 MAX aircraft, which could affect the control of the aircraft.
Therefore, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ordered the temporary suspension of flights for some Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft. The decision was made after an Alaska Airlines aircraft had to make an emergency landing due to the loss of part of the plane during flight.
