The Hrynkevych case

Just yesterday, on January 17, Ukrainian law enforcement announced suspicions against a Lviv businessman who is among the largest suppliers for the Ministry of Defense. Together with accomplices, according to the investigation, he caused nearly one billion hryvnias in damages to the Ukrainian budget.

Sources from RBK-Ukraine within law enforcement disclosed that the individuals in question are Igor Hrynkevych and his son Roman.

They are implicated in a case related to the procurement of substandard underwear and clothing for Ukrainian defenders.

Hrynkevych is currently in pretrial detention. Previously, he was apprehended attempting to bribe one of the officials at the State Bureau of Investigations with $500,000. Instead, the businessman claimed he was seeking the return of property seized from companies under his control.

Today, on January 18, it was revealed that the State Bureau of Investigations has put out a search warrant for Igor Hrynkevych's son, Roman.
