Counteroffensive underway: Ukrainian army advances up to 2 km on southern front
Ukrainian military keeps up advancing on the Tavria front in southern Ukraine. In particular, on the Berdiansk front, Ukraine's troops have advanced up to 2 km into enemy territory, as Spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Captain Valerii Shershen reports on Facebook.
"The Defense Forces are systematically pushing the enemy out of their positions and proceeding to advance. On the Berdiansk front, the most significant advancement into enemy territory is recorded - up to 2 km," he said.
According to the spokesperson, the Ukrainian military is currently consolidating its positions on the captured frontlines. "We are conducting aerial reconnaissance of the area, delivering artillery strikes on identified enemy targets, engaging in counter-battery warfare, and conducting demining operations," he added.
The Russians are putting up fierce resistance, but the Ukrainian forces are consistently pressing on certain sections of the front, squeezing the enemy, Shershen noted.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine's army has eliminated 72 occupiers, wounded 166 Russian military personnel, and destroyed 36 units of enemy weaponry and equipment.
