Consequences of the Russian missile strike on Kharkiv: Three strikes, destroyed buildings and fire reported
A Russian missile strike on Kharkiv around midnight on September 19 caused damage to private homes and sparked a significant fire. There were no casualties or injuries reported, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to Dmytro Chubenko, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the enemy launched strikes on Kharkiv around midnight.
"By 1 a.m., three impact sites had been identified, all in the Shevchenkivskyi district," he reported.
The prosecutor's office noted that the explosions destroyed two private residential buildings.
"Additionally, outbuildings and an area of approximately 1,000 square meters of vegetation caught fire. There were no injuries or fatalities reported," Chubenko said.
Preliminary information suggests that the Russian forces used ballistic weaponry for the strikes.
The prosecutor's office added that a criminal case has been opened for this war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which covers violations of the laws and customs of war.
Shelling of Kharkiv
Earlier reports indicated that explosions were heard in Kharkiv around midnight during an air raid alert, with rockets being launched by Russian forces.
Later, the Regional Military Administration confirmed that the strikes were recorded in Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district. Officials stated that the initial impact points were on open land. The mayor reported that a fire broke out at the site of the strikes, which hit a forested area in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
