China is helping Russia continue its war against Ukraine. Beijing is a key ally of Moscow, Reuters reports.

The European Commission spokesperson emphasized that without support from China, Russia would not be able to continue the war against Ukraine on such a scale.

Meanwhile, Chinese media reported today that Beijing is allegedly ready to cooperate with EU leaders to expand mutual openness and properly handle frictions and differences.

China's assistance to Russia

Recently, Ukrainian soldiers captured two Chinese citizens during combat actions in the Donetsk region. It turned out they were fighting on Russia’s side.

When the Chinese citizens signed contracts with the Russian armed forces, they were promised they would not be sent to the front. But the Russians deceived them.

Also recently, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there is evidence showing China is supplying Russia with military aid. This includes artillery and gunpowder.

Meanwhile, Chinese leader Xi Jinping decided to attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow. There, he has a scheduled meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Despite this, Chinese officials continue to claim that their country maintains a neutral stance and advocates for peace between Ukraine and Russia. Just days ago, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on both countries to identify the "roots" of the conflict.
