The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is asking for his resignation. He does not want to remain in office, Vedomosti informs.

Kadyrov responded to media rumors suggesting that he is preparing to resign.

"I've heard those rumors too. They write all sorts of things. On the contrary, I myself am asking to be dismissed from my position. Someone else will have their own initiatives and vision. I hope my request will be supported," he said.

Kadyrov has previously stated several times that he intends to resign. He wanted someone else to be appointed in his place. However, after such statements, the official from the aggressor country would "suddenly change" his mind and remain in office as the head of Chechnya.

Rumors about Kadyrov's illness

Novaya Gazeta Europa previously reported that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, regularly spends time at the Aymed private clinic as his health continues to deteriorate.

At the same time, his public activity has gradually been reduced to social media posts.

Journalists noted that he did not take part in the celebrations marking Chechnya’s Constitution Day and, for the first time, did not appear on television for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.

The outlet also claims that Kadyrov is already searching for a successor who could take over his "throne."
