OpenAI is launching ChatGPT on WhatsApp for the first time, and it will be completely free to use. This new feature will allow you to chat with it just like with a person or with the built-in Meta AI in messenger, the leading Apple news site 9to5Mac reports.

OpenAI made the announcement via a live stream on YouTube, showcasing the technology in action. In the United States, users can call the number 1-800-CHATGPT (1-800-242-8478) to talk with ChatGPT and get access to the same advanced responses as in the web version of the chatbot.

The main idea behind providing access to ChatGPT via a regular phone line is to give people the ability to communicate with the chatbot while in places without internet access.

For users in other countries, OpenAI also announced the availability of ChatGPT on WhatsApp, which allows users to send text messages directly to the chatbot through Meta's messaging platform.

To do this, simply start a chat with the same phone number mentioned above (1-800-242-8478). OpenAI says it's working on letting users log into their ChatGPT accounts with the WhatsApp bot.
