Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is close to leaving the club and beginning a new chapter in his career, the Argentinian journalist César Merlo reports.

Ancelotti's next career move

According to the journalist, the Brazilian Football Confederation has already made an official offer to the Italian coach.

Reportedly, the Brazilian side has proposed a contract with a record-breaking salary for a national team manager. Should Ancelotti accept, he would become the highest-paid football national team coach in the world.

Preliminary information suggests that the contract would run until the 2030 World Cup. However, Ancelotti has not yet made a final decision regarding his future.

Brazil's national football team was recently left without a manager after Dorival Júnior's departure, prompting an active search for a new head coach.

Ancelotti's name has been circulating among the top candidates for the Seleção job for several months, although no official confirmation has yet come from the coach or his representatives.

Ancelotti's replacement at Real Madrid

According to Spanish media reports, if Ancelotti leaves, Real Madrid is considering Bayer 04 Leverkusen's current coach, Xabi Alonso, as a possible successor.

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, who now serves as Global Sports Director for RB Leipzig, is also mentioned among the potential candidates for the Los Blancos head coach role.

Earlier this season Real Madrid dramatically lost to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.

Furthermore, Los Blancos were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League at the quarterfinal stage and now have only slim chances of winning La Liga.
