Cargo plane crashes into residential building in Vilnius
A DHL B737-400 cargo plane crashed near Vilnius Airport, Lithuania, this morning, November 25. The aircraft crashed into a two-story residential building, and one person is known to have died as a result of the incident, according to Delfi and Aerotime.
The plane crashed into a two-story residential building on Žirnių Street in the Lithuanian capital.
As a result of the incident, a fire broke out at the scene. The local Fire and Rescue Department's Operational Coordination Sector said that the fire started in the building.
Seven fire trucks and the airport fire brigade are involved in extinguishing the fire.

The plane was carrying 4 people: 2 pilots and two employees of DHL (a group of airlines owned, co-owned, or chartered by DHL Express).
After the crash, rescuers managed to free the pilot from the cockpit. 2 more people were taken to the emergency room.
One person was declared dead. The rescuers told reporters that there was no information about the injured residents of the apartment building.

According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, the B737-400 cargo plane took off from Leipzig/Halle Airport at 3:08 a.m.CET.
The plane was operated by SWIFT Air. DHL leases these aircraft.
No changes were introduced in the work of Vilnius airport.
