Deployment of American military personnel in Poland
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24, 2022, significantly heightened security concerns in Eastern Europe. This led to an increase in the military presence of the United States in Poland, as well as in other countries in the Baltic region and Central Europe.
There are approximately 10,000 American military personnel in Poland. They are deployed in combat teams of armored brigade combat teams stationed in Świętoszów and Żagań.
The deployment of American troops in Poland is seen as a deterrent to potential Russian aggression. It also signals the commitment of the United States to the security of its NATO allies.
