Canada will provide Ukraine with a military aid package totaling CAD 64.8 million (USD 47 million). This package will include small arms, ammunition, and protective equipment, citing Reuters.

The aid package, which also allocates funds for training Ukrainian troops, is part of a CAD 500 million military funding commitment made by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in July.

"The military assistance announced today provides Ukraine with important resources needed to defend itself against Russian aggression. Canada will continue to do what it takes to help them achieve victory," said Blair.

Canada, one of the most consistent supporters of Kyiv on the international stage, announced last month that it would deliver 80,840 surplus unarmed air-to-ground missiles to Ukraine, along with 1,300 warheads.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Canada has allocated CAD 4.5 billion for military aid.

In October, Canada extended a loan of CAD 400 million (USD 300 million) to Ukraine. Canada has been among the top five donors of budgetary support to Ukraine since February 2022.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, direct budget support from Canada has reached USD 5.4 billion. In 2024, Canada has already allocated USD 1.9 billion in loans.
