Durwin Hickman, an airport worker in the Bay Area, won $20 million on a California Lottery Scratcher, ABC News reports.

He bought the winning scratcher at a liquor store in Hayward and played it during his lunch break.

According to the Sacramento Bee, he didn't even believe at first and had to turn to his wife to verify. He sent a photo of the ticket to his wife, who confirmed that the $30 Set for Life ticket had indeed hit the jackpot, as stated in a news release from the California Lottery on December 15.

Describing his win, Hickman said, “It was the biggest rush I have had in my life.”

Hickman, employed as a skycap assisting passengers with their luggage, has ambitious plans for his newfound fortune.

"My whole thing is I wanted to buy my wife a house," Hickman said.

For selling the winning ticket, L&M Liquor will receive a prize of $100,000. Hayward, situated approximately 30 miles southeast of San Francisco, became the fortunate location for this life-changing win.
