Brussels Diamond League: Two Ukrainians in race for final

Oleh Doroshchuk and Dmytro Nikitin have been included in the entry list for the Diamond League stage in Brussels, which will take place on August 22. This event will determine the final lineup of the season-2025 finalists in the men's high jump.
Ukrainians in the start list
The participants' list includes 10 athletes, among them two Ukrainians, Doroshchuk and Nikitin.
For Doroshchuk, this is his third participation in the Diamond League this season. At the Silesia stage, he won bronze with a result of 2.28 m, and earlier he finished second in Rome.
Nikitin is making his Diamond League debut and will compete at this high level for the first time.
Among the Ukrainians' competitors are Olympic champion Hamish Kerr, two-time NCAA champion Romain Beckford, Olympic silver medalist Shelby McEwen, and European Team Championships silver medalist Marco Fassinotti.
Doroshchuk's chances for the final
Currently, Doroshchuk ranks sixth in the season standings with 13 points.
Four jumpers have already secured their places in the top six: Hamish Kerr, Juwan Harrison, Romain Beckford, and Shelby McEwen.
Doroshchuk has a two-point advantage over seventh-ranked Jan Štefela, but the Czech athlete is not on the Brussels entry list.
Eighth place with 10 points is held by Italian Marco Fassinotti.
Doroshchuk will qualify for the final if he finishes in fifth place. If he finishes lower, he can still reach the final, provided he does not lose three positions to Marco Fassinotti.
