Undisputed world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, together with his wife Kateryna, attended the 50th film festival in Toronto. The Ukrainian athlete took part in the presentation of the sports drama "The Smashing Machine," where he played the role of Ukrainian MMA fighter Ihor Vovchanchyn. Usyk's wife, Kateryna, shared some pictures from the event on her Instagram.
Usyk at anniversary film festival
On September 8, Toronto hosted the premiere of the film "The Smashing Machine," starring world-famous Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
On stage with him was also Emily Blunt, who played the girlfriend of American UFC champion Mark Kerr. Oleksandr Usyk was a special guest at the event, appearing on stage and receiving a genuine ovation from the audience.
Usyk's role in the film
In the film, Usyk played Ukrainian MMA fighter Ihor Vovchanchyn, who is Mark Kerr's opponent.
Vovchanchyn, born in 1973 in the Kharkiv region, was the champion of IFC and IAFC tournaments and became known for his unique striking technique, which was nicknamed the "Vovchanchyn punch."
With his cameo role, Usyk conveyed the charismatic image of the Ukrainian fighter, which became a standout moment of the premiere.

Usyk's wife, Kateryna, shared photos from the event, including shots with world stars and a special moment with Dwayne Johnson himself.
During the afterparty, the Ukrainian champion asked The Rock for an autograph, and he gladly signed a 20-dollar bill.
