President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the signing of the joint communiqué of the Peace Summit by the Republic of Botswana. He expressed appreciation for the friendly relations between the countries and Botswana's significant contribution to maintaining global security and stability, according to Zelenskyy .

Zelenskyy emphasized that Botswana demonstrates a clear commitment to international law, the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, as well as support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He added that Botswana reaffirms its support for Ukraine's efforts to restore a just peace.

"By protecting shared principles for one country, we protect them for everyone and strengthen all of the world’s peace-loving nations," said Zelenskyy.

It should be noted that this is the 93rd signature to the Peace Summit communiqué.

Peace Summit

In early June this year, Ukraine organized the first Peace Summit in Switzerland, to which Russia was not invited. The event was attended by representatives of nearly 100 countries and international organizations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later announced the need to hold a second Peace Summit by the end of this year. There is a possibility that Russia will be invited this time. However, there are still doubts about its participation, as Russian officials have made categorical statements on this issue.
