The next meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council will discuss strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities, stated the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.

As Borrell noted, on December 8, Russian terrorists launched the largest missile attack on Ukraine in the last 2 months. In this regard, he called for strengthening the Armed Forces, including air defense systems.

"At the next Foreign Affairs Council we’ll discuss European Union security commitments, with proposals on the table to increase our contribution to Ukrainian military capabilities," Borrell added.

Attack on Ukraine on December 8

At about 6 a.m., Russian terrorists launched a strike from Tu-95MS strategic bombers with X-101/X-555 cruise missiles. In total, the enemy used 7 warplanes, which had fired 19 air-launched cruise missiles.

Some of the missiles were aimed at infrastructure facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In particular, another part, having reached Dnipro, changed its direction towards Kyiv.

Air defense destroyed 14 of the 19 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles.

Meanwhile, the West believes that the shelling on December 8 is "the beginning of a winter campaign of strikes."
