Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses in the Kupiansk direction using armored vehicles but came under heavy fire and were repelled, reports the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great.

Troops from the 14th Mechanized Brigade thwarted the Russian assault, which involved two MT-LBs and one BMP-2 carrying infantry.

The armored vehicles were first hit by drones while still en route. They were then destroyed before reaching Ukrainian positions.

"A complete failure for the enemy. Kupiansk direction. We haven't seen this kind of boldness in a while. Just look at this — Russian armor advancing, clearly thinking they'd break through. But the warriors of the Prince met them," the soldiers wrote in a post.

Surviving Russian infantry tried to hide in nearby bushes. However, they were struck by kamikaze drones and dropped munitions. In total, 17 Russian troops were eliminated.

"Everything and everyone burned — along with their hopes for success. Russian mechanized assault ended in the usual way: total failure. We keep working. We’re fighting for victory," Ukrainian troops commented, sharing video of the engagement.
