Body of Russia's top diplomat found in Turkish hotel
The head of the Department of Pan-European Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Kobrinets, was found dead in his own hotel room in Istanbul, Türkiye, according to the Turkish TV channel NTV.
It is noted that the diplomat arrived in Istanbul for a meeting of ambassadors. His colleagues tried to reach out to him after he missed a morning meeting, but in vain. Afterward, his body was found in the hotel room.
According to preliminary investigation information, the senior diplomat died of a heart attack. Currently, his body has been taken to the morgue to determine the exact cause of death.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the terrorist state confirmed the death of the 62-year-old diplomat. It is stated that Kobrinets passed away on October 12. However, the reasons or other details of his death are not disclosed.
Kobrinets' career in Russia
As stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the terrorists, Kobrinets worked in various positions within the central apparatus and abroad. From 2006 to 2011, he served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the European Union.
Specifically:
- From 2011 to 2012, he held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Pan-European Cooperation.
- From 2012 to 2019, he served as Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Government of the Russian Federation.
- In 2019, he headed the Department of Pan-European Cooperation.
He was awarded the Medal of the Order For Services to the Fatherland II Degree, the Order of Friendship, and an honorary diploma from the President of Russia.
