The dress featured a plunging neckline, decorative details on the shoulders, and an intricate lace pattern. The singer accentuated her waist with a black belt.
She completed the look with large oval earrings and silver-toned rings. Jackson slicked her hair back, drawing attention to her face and jewelry.
For her makeup, she paired dark, blended eyeshadow with wine-colored lipstick and blush.

Why the singer attended the event
Jackson attended the event to present Missy Elliott with the honorary Icon Award.
A year earlier, Janet herself received the same honor, presented to her by Liza Minnelli.

This year's honorees also included singer and choreographer Toni Basil, Hilaria Baldwin, and director and choreographer Vincent Paterson.
A separate award was dedicated to the memory of Broadway star Chita Rivera.
The gala, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, is organized by the charity Dancers Against Cancer.
The organization provides financial assistance to dancers, choreographers, and their families affected by cancer. The funds raised at the event go toward supporting them.
On October 11, Jackson performed at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore. It was her first concert in the country in 15 years.
