For the first time, Ukraine will officially recognize the status and activities of Ukrainian educational centers abroad, according to the post by the representative of the Office of the President.

According to Iryna Vereshchuk, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's meetings with Ukrainian communities in various countries around the world have repeatedly raised the issue of educating children who are currently abroad.

Vereshchuk reminded that in February, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed amendments to the Law "On Complete General Secondary Education," which established that every child's right to have their educational achievements abroad be officially recognized. These changes will come into effect on June 15.

However, before that date, the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt a resolution defining the procedure for recognizing the results of such education. A draft of this regulation has already been developed.

The new legislation will also recognize the results of informal education in the Ukrainian language that children receive abroad, including at Saturday and Sunday schools.

"This is the first time in our country's history that the Ukrainian state officially recognizes the status and activities of Ukrainian educational centers abroad," Vereshchuk emphasized.
