Biden's associates believe his chances of defeating Trump are zero - NBC
In the United States, Democrats believe that President Joe Biden should withdraw from the election, according to NBC News.
Several close associates of President Joe Biden, including three people directly involved in his re-election campaign, have said that they currently believe his chances of defeating his opponent, former President Donald Trump, are zero.
"He needs to drop out... He will never recover from this," said one of Biden's campaign representatives.
Among the Democrats who believe he should reconsider his decision to run are aides, operatives, and officials tasked with leading his campaign to victory.
Those who spoke to NBC News said the idea that he should exit the campaign and hand the Democratic nomination to someone else—most likely Vice President Kamala Harris—is widely spread even within the campaign and external Democratic structures supporting it.
"No one involved in the effort thinks he has a path," said a second person working on his re-election.
Additionally, another individual close to the campaign mentioned the current situation—questions around Biden's cognitive abilities, lack of funding, and increasing polls showing Biden's support declining.
Notably, for two weeks Biden has been trying to stabilize his re-election campaign after the debacle in the debates at the end of June. Ultimately, the decision on whether the current President of the United States will remain in the race is up to Biden, and so far the president has insisted that he will not leave.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that recently Biden wrote a letter to Democrats about his participation in the election.
