Better than khachapuri: Open cheese buns recipe
If you want to bake something, opting for homemade cheese buns would be a great choice. They look a little like khachapuri and turn out very aromatic and loaded with a large amount of cheese, according to the Halochka-Kulinarochka YouTube channel.
Ingredients
These buns resemble khachapuri by the way the look, but do not contain eggs in the filling. They are made with regular hard cheese and a lot of greens.
You will need:
- Milk - 200 g
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 0.5 tsp
- Dry yeast - 1 tsp
- Wheat flour - 350 g
- Sunflower oil - 3 tbsp
- Hard cheese - 100 g
- Dill - 1 bunch
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Chicken egg, yolk - 1 piece
Directions
First, add sugar, salt, dry yeast, oil to warm milk, and mix with a whisk. Then gradually add flour and knead a soft dough.
After that, cover with plastic wrap and leave for 1 hour. Divide the dough into eight pieces, roll each into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and leave for 15 minutes.
Roll the dough balls into round cakes, roll them into small buns, pinch the edges well. Place on a baking sheet, make incisions, cover with plastic wrap, and leave for 20 minutes.
Add garlic and finely chopped greens to the grated hard cheese, mix thoroughly. At the end, brush the edges of the buns with yolk and place the filling inside the incisions.
Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes.
By the way, the filling can be replaced, namely by using cheeses of different types.
