On July 10, Lithuania scrambled its fighter jets because of an unknown drone from Belarus. Because of the threat, the country's leadership went into shelter. An unknown drone crashed a kilometer from the Belarusian border, near the closed Shumsk checkpoint.

Later, Lithuanian National Defense Minister Dovilė Šakalienė confirmed that it was a Russian Gerbera drone, a decoy drone without a payload designed to distract air defense. It has not yet been established how it managed to reach Lithuania via Ukraine and Belarus.
