Belarusian forces allegedly preparing provocations against Ukraine
Belarusian security forces, in a bid to showcase their 'strength' to China, may be preparing false flag provocations in the border zone with Ukraine, the National Resistance Center of Ukraine (NRCU) reports.
"They plan to carry out provocations, which they will then successfully thwart, to demonstrate their capabilities to their Chinese counterparts. From July 8 to 19, the first joint exercises of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus and the People's Liberation Army of China are taking place in the Republic of Belarus," writes NRCU.
The exercises are labeled anti-terrorist. The Belarusian security forces plan to thwart provocations along the border with Ukraine, after which they will accuse Kyiv of instigating them.
Belarus' role in the war
From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarus has been supporting the aggressor country. Specifically, Belarus has organized joint 'exercises' with Russia since April 29, 2022. As a result, Ukrainian border guards have strengthened border security.
Additionally, Alexander Lukashenko stated in the spring that Belarus 'does not want to fight' but is preparing for it. According to him, criticism from 'unfriendly countries' indicates that Minsk is 'acting correctly.'"
