Belarus "doesn't want to go to war," but is preparing for it. The country continues to hold military drills, and supplies its troops with various types of weapons and equipment, says Alexander Lukashenko, according to BelTA.

“Do not believe anyone saying that we want to go to war. We are preparing for war, I am speaking frankly about it. The well-known phrase ‘If you want peace, prepare for war’ is quite true,” Lukashenko said.

According to him, the country holds necessary military training, and supplies its troops with various types of weapons and equipment. He adds that criticism coming from "unfriendly countries" means "we are doing the right thing." He also stresses that his country does not threaten anyone with anything.

“We do not need to threaten anyone. We do not want someone else's land,” Lukashenko noted.

Belarus's role in Russia's war against Ukraine

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine, including from Belarusian territory. At that time, the enemy captured parts of the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. Later, Ukrainian soldiers reclaimed territory.

But the Russian military proceeds with using Belarus to carry out strikes on Ukraine.
