Ballistic strike leaves Kyiv with burning buildings and damaged cars

On the night of October 25, Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles. The attack caused fires and damaged buildings, according to the Telegram channels of Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko and Kyiv City Military Administration Head Timur Tkachenko.
What Russia used in the attack
At 03:51 Kyiv time that night, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of ballistic weapons. The Ukrainian Air Force detected high-speed targets heading toward the capital.
A series of explosions followed in Kyiv, and initial reports on the impact of the attack began to emerge.
Initial consequences of the Russian attack on Kyiv
According to preliminary data, the impact of the enemy strike has been recorded in at least two districts - Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi.
“Fires in the Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts. Preliminary reports indicate that non-residential buildings and vehicles are burning,” Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko wrote at 04:14 Kyiv time.
Meanwhile, Kyiv City Military Administration Head Timur Tkachenko reported that, according to initial information, fires broke out at several locations in the left-bank part of the city.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that damage was recorded in a residential area of the Dniprovskyi district.
“We are recording information about damage in a residential area in the Dniprovskyi district and casualties. Preliminary reports indicate broken windows, damaged vehicles, and a crater in the yard of a residential building as a result of the attack,” the statement said.

“Large fires have broken out in non-residential buildings in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts,” Klitschko clarified.
Casualties
Klitschko noted that medical teams were dispatched to the Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
“At present, one person has been injured in the Dniprovskiy district. Medics are assisting with the site,” he later clarified.

There are currently four injured people in Kyiv. According to Mayor Klitschko, two of them have been hospitalized.

The mayor of Kyiv reported that the number of injured has risen from six to eight people. Three of them have been hospitalized in city medical facilities.
Attacks on Kyiv
Russian forces have increasingly targeted Kyiv recently, using Shahed-type drones as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.
For instance, on the night of October 23, the capital came under a drone attack. The consequences were recorded in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts.
Specifically, the strikes damaged residential buildings and a garden, set vehicles on fire, and caused civilian casualties.
