Ukrainian soldiers have delivered accurate strikes against the occupation army in the Kharkiv region. More than a dozen Russian positions were destroyed using a drone, according to the Telegram channel of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Troops.

According to the United Forces Command, Ukrainian defenders struck the positions of Russian invaders using a heavy strike drone known as Baba Yaga.

"Thanks to aerial reconnaissance units of the 4th Border Detachment, which is part of the Defense Forces operating in the Kharkiv direction, enemy positions were detected and destroyed," the military group reported.

As a result of the overnight drone operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eleven enemy positions were eliminated.

The State Border Guard Service showcased the successful work of Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance units in a video.

What is known about the Baba Yaga drone

Ukrainian soldiers have nicknamed the large Vampir drone Baba Yaga (a female character from Slavic folklore - ed.). The UAV earned this moniker because it operates exclusively at night, dropping a significant number of munitions.

The Vampir drone is Ukrainian-made. Its development began in the summer of 2022, following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Its arsenal includes specialized aerial bombs, as well as mortar, anti-tank, and anti-personnel mines. It is also actively used for remote mining and transporting useful cargo.

According to the drone’s operators, this UAV features good accuracy, reliable radio communication, and a thermal imaging camera. Thanks to its heavy weight, it can drop up to four munitions on enemy equipment in a single mission — with high precision.

Successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region

Ukrainian fighters also struck Russian equipment in the Kharkiv region. Using FPV drones, they destroyed one enemy tank and damaged another.

In addition, Ukrainian border guards delivered a devastating strike on a Russian position in the Kharkiv region, destroying equipment and six enemy positions.

Aerial reconnaissance units of the Kharkiv Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service also eliminated two positions, one tank, and eight Russian vehicles in the region.
