Kazakhstan will send the black boxes of the AZAL aircraft to Brazil. These actions are provided for by the Chicago Convention.

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport emphasized that in accordance with the standards of Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention, the investigating state ensures that the flight data recorders are read and decides on the choice of country to read and decrypt the black boxes.

Kazakhstan ratified the Convention in 1992 and is a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

The Ministry of Transport noted that on the basis of this document, as well as taking into account consultations with the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia, it was decided to send the flight data recorders to the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents in Brazil (CENIPA), which is also the country of origin of the Embraer aircraft.

It is known that the center (CENIPA) has the necessary technical capabilities, equipped with the appropriate equipment and a certified laboratory for their reading.
