Some foods, like medicines, require a different type of intake to be better absorbed and not cause stomach irritation. On an empty stomach, it's not advisable to eat fruits, drink juices, or coffee, especially for people with gastritis or other chronic digestive issues, according to Healthline.

Products you shouldn't eat on an empty stomach

In particular, if you don't suffer from these problems, it's not necessary to adhere to restrictions. All these products and beverages irritate the stomach lining because they contain organic acids. However, they won't cause any harm to a healthy person.

If you have gastrointestinal tract problems, you should carefully choose foods for breakfast. Oatmeal is the best option, while it's better to avoid fruits or concentrated juices.

Fresh juice or a cup of coffee is also not the best choice if you feel any discomfort after consuming them on an empty stomach.

Moreover, it's better to avoid sweet carbonated drinks. Opting for plain or mineral water is best as it helps stimulate metabolic processes in the body.

Yeast affects the stomach lining in a special way, leading to gas formation, bloating, and belching. If you want to eat pastries, it's better to do so after consuming a portion of protein and vegetables.

It's not advisable to endure hunger when there's no opportunity to have a snack. It's better to refrain from consuming products that can worsen the condition in cases of gastritis.

What you can eat

It's best to choose fruits and vegetables with low acidity, including berries, pumpkin, and carrots.

From dairy products, low-fat unsweetened yogurt with probiotics is suitable. In small portions, you can eat some hard cheeses with low salt content.

Eggs should only be consumed boiled or as an omelet. It's not advisable to combine them with sausages or ham.

Buckwheat porridge contains a lot of potassium, magnesium, iron, protein, and has a mild effect on the intestines, making it ideal for breakfast.

When is the best time to have breakfast

It's important to remember that breakfast is the most important meal as it helps balance blood sugar levels. It's best to eat within the first hour after waking up, ideally between 6 and 10 in the morning.

Lunch should be eaten before 2 p.m. It should be lighter than breakfast but more filling than dinner.
