Magnetic storms can negatively affect human well-being, which is why people often look for forecasts. Solar flares can influence not only health but also the functioning of technology. However, according to scientists, the penultimate weekend of August will be calm. What forecast do researchers give for the coming days?

Forecast for August 22-25

According to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center (NOAA SWPC), no significant geomagnetic storm of G1 or higher is expected during this period.

The latest three-day forecast grid shows no expected radiation flares or major solar ejections.

August 22, Friday: moderate activity, K-index 4
August 23, Saturday: medium activity, K-index 3
August 24, Sunday: calm, K-index 2–3
August 25, Monday: calm, K-index 2–3

What is a geomagnetic storm?

A geomagnetic storm is a disturbance in the Earth's magnetic field caused by solar emissions (coronal mass ejections, flares).

It can affect satellites, navigation, power systems, and human well-being. NOAA classifies these events on a G1-G5 scale, where G1 is the weakest storm.

How to protect yourself: Recommendations for weather-sensitive people

Magnetic fluctuations most affect weather-sensitive individuals. Experts at Health recommend the following:
