World No. 2 Jannik Sinner has delivered an incredible winning streak at Masters tournaments. The Italian not only surpassed Novak Djokovic but also moved closer to a rare Sunshine Double, according to match results.

Dominant run and Serbian record falls

Sinner’s path to a historic mark began back in November last year on the courts of Accor Arena in Paris.

Winning five matches in a row without dropping a single set, the Italian claimed the title. The next stop was the Indian Wells Masters, where Jannik added six more straight-set victories and another trophy.

Heading into the Miami Open, the Italian arrived on an 11-match streak in which his opponents failed to win even a single set.

An opening win over Damir Džumhur allowed Sinner to match the long-standing record of Novak Djokovic — 24 consecutive sets won at ATP 1000 events.

Already in the next round, after a match against Corentin Moutet, the Italian became the sole leader in this category.

Tough comeback against Michelsen

Another test awaited World No. 2 Jannik Sinner in a clash with American Alex Michelsen.

Despite a difficult second set, where Jannik trailed 2–5, he managed to turn the match around.

Winning the set in a tiebreak (7–4), Sinner extended his record streak to 28 consecutive sets won.

The Italian is now three steps away from the so-called Sunshine Double — titles at Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open in the same calendar year.

The last player to achieve this was Roger Federer back in 2017.

Ranking battle and next opponent

Despite his phenomenal form, Sinner remains No. 2 in the world rankings, trailing Carlos Alcaraz by more than 2,000 points.

The Miami tournament holds special significance for Jannik: he already won here in 2024, although he had previously lost two finals (2021, 2023).

In the quarterfinal, the Italian will face Frances Tiafoe. It will be Sinner’s fifth appearance at this stage in Florida.

The head-to-head record favors the European, who has won four of their five previous meetings against the American.
