Assassination attempts on Putin took place, but failed - Ukraine's intelligence chief
Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is aware of attempts to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin. There have been attempts to assassinate the Kremlin leader, but so far they have been unsuccessful, says Defense Intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with NV.
"They (attempts to assassinate Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin - ed.) took place, but, as you can see, they have failed so far," Budanov said.
Asked if Putin is a compromising figure for his inner circle and "an arbitrator who suits everyone," he said that "it hasn't been about compromise for a long time."
In this context, the chief Ukrainian intelligence officer recalled the stories of his grandmother, who witnessed the death of Joseph Stalin.
"She said that people thought their whole world had collapsed, and they didn't know how to live. Putin has been in power for more than 20 years, so it will be a very similar feeling, and now Russians are afraid of losing him because he is the guarantor of their life stability," Budanov added.
Assassination attempts on Putin
Earlier, Budanov said that "representatives of the Caucasus" attempted to assassinate Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, but the attempt failed.
Later, a representative of the DIU, Andrii Yusov, said that there were attempts on Putin's life even after that. He emphasized that his inner circle could pose a danger to him.
Putin is seriously afraid for his life. He started flying to Russian regions accompanied by fighter jets. Before that, they had accompanied him only abroad.
