Assassination attempt on Slovakia's Prime Minister: Attacker reveals his motives
The man who attempted to assassinate Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico today has voiced his motives. He disagreed with the government's policies, informs ta3.
Journalists have released a video in which the detained Juraj Cintula stated that he disagreed with the government's policies.
He explained this as the reason for firing shots at Robert Fico multiple times.
"I disagree with the government's policies... The media outlets are being shut down. Why is RTVS under attack? Why was Mazak fired?" the shooter said.
Fico's condition
Matúš Šutaj Eštok, Minister of the Interior, confirmed information that Fitzo had undergone surgery.
"The criminal made 5 shots, and the prime minister is in critical condition. He is still in the operating room," the minister added.
According to him, the shooter's decision was politically motivated and formed shortly after the presidential elections.

Earlier in the day, it became known that an assassination attempt had been made on Prime Minister Robert Fico in Slovakia. The shooter was immediately apprehended, with reports from the media identifying the assailant as local writer Juraj Cintula.
