Ukrainian defenders attacked a number of Russian targets. There were strikes on the arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Strike on Russian arsenal
Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the GRAU's 100th arsenal in the vicinity of the village of Neya in the Kostroma region. A fire broke out on the territory of the facility after the attack.
The extent of the damage is still being determined. According to preliminary information, Russia announced the evacuation of the local population after the hits on the arsenal.
“The destruction of this facility significantly disrupts the logistics chains for the supply of ammunition, reduces the operational capabilities of the enemy's combat units, and complicates offensive operations,” the General Staff said.
The 100th arsenal of the GRAU is a long-term ammunition storage complex that is part of the supply system for the Russian Army, Airborne Forces, and Aerospace Forces.
The facility performs the functions of accounting, maintenance, storage, and preparation for shipment of artillery ammunition, as well as tactical and operational-tactical missiles.
Strike on an oil depot
On the night of January 6, Defense Forces soldiers attacked the Gerkon Plus oil depot near the village of Streletskiye Khutory in the Lipetsk region. Explosions and a fire were reported at the oil depot.
Ukrainian soldiers also struck drone control points in the areas of Pokrovsk, Valetovka in the Kursk region, and Grayvoron in the Belgorod region.
The General Staff specified that in the Novoyanisol area in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, a 9S32 radar station of the S-300 V anti-aircraft missile system was hit.
The Defense Forces also struck an area where Russian forces were concentrated near Staroselye in the Belgorod region. Enemy losses are being clarified.
Earlier, sources reported strikes on the Gerkon Plus oil depot and the 100th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
