Apple has sent out the first invitations to journalists and media for a presentation of new products, which will be the most important event for the Mac computer lineup this year, according to Bloomberg technology analyst Mark Gurman.
Presentation schedule and main highlight
The official announcement of the new devices is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, and on Wednesday, October 28, the company will hold a full-day demonstration session where journalists will be able to test the new gadgets in person.
The central premiere of the event will be the next generation of the flagship MacBook Pro laptop.
- New design: The device will receive its first major redesign since 2021 - the chassis will become significantly thinner and lighter.
- Display breakthrough: For the first time in the history of the Mac lineup, the laptop will be equipped with an OLED panel supporting touch input.
- Processors: Flagship configurations will continue to use the high-performance M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
Despite the expected increase in the cost of top-tier MacBook Pro models, this announcement promises to be Apple's most significant technological leap in recent years.
Affordable Mac models and updated iPad mini
In addition to the flagship laptop, Apple is preparing to present more accessible solutions for the mass market.
The debut of the base 14-inch MacBook Pro in its familiar chassis, but now based on the new M6 processor, as well as an updated iMac all-in-one desktop with the same chipset, is expected.
Also, as part of the event, the announcement of the first iPad mini tablet with an OLED display is anticipated. According to sources, the compact gadget will feature a high-quality display panel, but the refresh rate will be limited to the standard 60 Hz.
