'Any target bringing war has to be neutralized': Zelenskyy about Crimean Bridge
The Crimean Bridge is a target for Ukrainian defenders. It must be neutralized since the occupiers are using it for warfare, according to a statement of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Aspen Security Forum.
The head of state reminded that Ukraine's goal is to liberate Crimea from the occupiers since it is a sovereign territory of our country and an integral part of our people.
According to Zelenskyy, the Crimean Bridge is not just a "small logistical road" because, through it, Russian forces receive ammunition and militarize the entire peninsula.
"For us, it is understandably an enemy facility, built outside the law, outside international norms and all applicable norms, so understandably, it is our objective. And any objective, any target that is bringing war, not peace, has to be neutralized," emphasized the president.
Attack on the Crimean Bridge
During the night of July 17, a series of explosions occurred on the Crimean Bridge, resulting in partial damage to the bridge.
Later, sources from RBC-Ukraine in the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that the SSU, together with the Naval Forces of Ukraine, carried out an attack on the bridge. The strike was conducted using surface drones.
This attack resulted in the disruption of vehicular traffic on the bridge. As of today, full traffic has still not been restored, and the bridge is expected to be repaired no earlier than November.
