Another record: Price of Bitcoin surpasses $86,000
The price of Bitcoin continues to set new records after Donald Trump won the US presidential election. Currently, the cryptocurrency is valued at over $86,000, Bloomberg reports.
As noted by the media outlet, since last week's election, the price of Bitcoin has risen by more than 25%. New record highs in value were recorded almost daily.
According to Bloomberg, the cryptocurrency's price increased by 8.4% today, reaching an unprecedented $86,633. This marks the largest jump since the day after the election when the price rose by nearly 10%.
This surge in Bitcoin's value is attributed to Donald Trump's campaign promise to make the US a hub for the digital asset industry. This includes the creation of a strategic reserve of Bitcoin and other digital assets.
Trump's victory in the election
Despite predictions of a tight race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the Republican candidate won decisively last week. Specifically, he triumphed in all the swing states, which essentially determined the outcome of the election.
In a comment to RBC-Ukraine, Serhii Mamedov, Chairman of the Board of Globus Bank, stated that Trump's victory is unlikely to have a direct impact on the exchange rate of the dollar in Ukraine.
According to him, the main risk lies in the possibility that one of the candidates, if elected, might reduce or cancel US aid.
