Another NATO ally brings in F-35s to shield arms shipments to Ukraine

From September 1 to December 1, Dutch F-35 fighters will be on duty over Eastern Europe, according to the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
The goal is to ensure the safe transportation of Western military aid to Ukraine and to deter possible threats from Russia.
As part of NATO's Response Force, the aircraft will patrol the Alliance's airspace around the clock.
The Dutch F-35s will be joined by a Norwegian fighter jet squadron. The deployment is being carried out at the request of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
"Again, we are doing this using our most advanced capabilities. By deploying these Dutch F-35s to monitor the airspace over Eastern Europe, we are protecting military equipment destined for Ukraine," said Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
The Dutch Defense Ministry noted that during previous missions in Estonia, F-35s have effectively responded to air threats, including Russian aircraft approaching NATO airspace.
F-35
F-35 is a fifth-generation multi-role fighter developed by Lockheed Martin.
It is considered one of the most advanced combat aircraft in the world due to its stealth, high-precision weapons, and ability to operate in complex air defense.
Norway will strengthen its contribution to NATO's air and missile defense system.
This fall, F-35 fighters will be deployed to Poland and Rzeszów Airport. The operation was carefully planned to ensure that Norway's national defense and security are maintained.
