For one day of the US operation Epic Fury, aimed against the Iranian regime, Washington spends about $900 million. Most of the funds used for military actions are not included in the budget, according to an analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

As CSIS analysts noted, on March 5, when the sixth day of the Epic Fury operation began, US President Donald Trump and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth hinted that the conflict could last for weeks.

Members of Congress, the media, and the public are increasingly asking about the cost of this operation, and a wide range of estimates is currently circulating.

However, according to the analysis, the first 100 hours of operation are estimated at $3.7 billion, or $891.4 million per day. Some of these costs are already included in the budget, but the majority ($3.5 billion) are not.

“The shift of U.S. forces to less expensive munitions and the steep decline of Iranian drone and missile launches will drive costs down. However, future costs will depend mostly on the intensity of operations and the effectiveness of Iranian retaliation,” the center’s website states.

Operation against Iran — Epic Fury

On February 28, the US launched the Epic Fury operation against Iran, and Israel also joined the military actions. Less than a day later, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was eliminated.

Among the goals of the Epic Fury operation is the destruction of Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear program, which Tehran had been actively pursuing. The White House recently listed the main objectives of the special operation.

Iran, in turn, not only repelled attacks but also launched large numbers of drones at Persian Gulf countries — Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Jordan, and Bahrain. US military bases and infrastructure were also hit.

The conflict also reached Europe — for example, Iran attacked a British military base in Cyprus with a drone. Spain and Italy have decided to assist the Greek naval forces, and the countries will send aid.
