Veterans of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Taras Prots (Kraken unit), and Serhii Shykun (Department of Active Operations), completed one of the most exhausting races in the world the Spartan Ultra World Championship in the French Alps, as reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR MOD).

Wearing prosthetic limbs, they completed a 52-kilometer mountain course with over 60 obstacles and an elevation gain of more than 2,800 meters. The course took 9.5 hours to complete.

"We feel exhausted, but there was never a thought of quitting. We have a mission and we must accomplish it," said Taras Prots.

Both fighters sustained combat injuries and underwent amputations, but they continue to serve and prove by personal example the resilience of Ukrainian warriors.

"It's all about character. The will to remain unconquered. First for yourself, and then for others," added Serhii Shykun.

Fundraising for rehabilitation

Participation in Spartan Ultra is part of the Limitless project, which includes a fundraising campaign of 1 million hryvnias for the rehabilitation of HUR veterans with amputations.

Earlier, we reported on the release of the documentary film "Everest: No Limits," which tells the story of Ukrainian HUR veterans with amputations who ascended to Everest Base Camp. The film demonstrates strength of spirit, motivation, and life after severe injuries. The expedition is also part of the Limitless project, which supports veterans in their physical and mental recovery.
