'Akin to taking of Berlin': Ukraine's military explains Russians' attempts to occupy Tabaivka
For Russian society, the occupation of the village of Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region will be presented as the taking of Berlin, despite the fact that it is a settlement where fewer than 45 people lived before, reports the spokesperson of the Ground Forces, Volodymyr Fityo.
The enemy did not capture Tabaivka
Fityo strongly denies the claims of Russian terrorists regarding the occupation of Tabaivka. According to him, the Defense Forces are currently attempting to push the enemy back to their previous positions. He noted that the Russians suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment in recent days.
Taking of Berlin
The spokesperson for the Ground Forces explains that ahead of the Russian presidential elections, the occupiers are trying to present some victories to dictator Vladimir Putin, intending to showcase these victories on television to the citizens later.
"Unfortunately, the television still prevails over the refrigerator. Therefore, small settlements like Krokhmalne, where 45 people lived before the large-scale invasion, and Tabaivka, an even smaller settlement, are being portrayed to society in their information field, akin to the taking of Berlin," Fityo states.
Strategic and logistic significance of Tabaivka
Fityo mentions that the village is situated in a lowland area with marshy terrain, making control over it significantly challenging.
Fighting for Tabaivka
Recently, terrorists claimed the supposed occupation of the village of Tabaivka and the capture of dominant heights in the region. However, analysts from DeepState immediately refuted this information, stating that the Armed Forces prevented the enemy from consolidating in the village and restrained the Russians from advancing.
"There are ongoing hostilities, so the enemy did not capture any Tabaivka. Therefore, these minimal advancements in this territory are all that the invaders are capable of," Fityo commented on the Russian disinformation.
