Air and missile units engaged: Air defenses fend off Russian night assault

Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight with strike drones launched from multiple directions. Most of the enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"In the night of April 11, the enemy attacked with 160 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass types and other unmanned aerial vehicles from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory), Chauda (temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), about 100 of them were Shahed drones," the Air Force reported.
It is noted that the air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, air defenses shot down or suppressed 133 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass types and other drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 20 strike UAVs hit 10 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at 11 locations.
"The attack is ongoing, several enemy UAVs are still in the airspace. Follow safety rules," the Air Force added.
Russian strikes on Ukraine on the night of April 11
On the night of April 11, Russian forces twice attacked residential buildings in Sumy. As a result of the enemy shelling, many homes, a kindergarten, and more than a dozen people were affected.
In addition, that night Russians also carried out an attack on Odesa, killing two city residents and injuring two more. Significant damage was also reported to municipal and private property.
In addition, overnight Russian forces attacked the Poltava region. As a result of a downed enemy UAV, a shop and a café were damaged. Unfortunately, one person was killed.
