56 Ukrainians reported missing in Nepal amid ongoing search

A search operation is ongoing in Nepal for Ukrainians who went missing in the floods, with their number having risen to 56, reports Suspilne.
Ukrainian consuls are in direct contact with local authorities, who are coordinating rescue efforts to locate and evacuate citizens with whom communication has been lost. According to the Foreign Ministry, the number of missing has remained largely unchanged — only one additional citizen, part of a foreign tourist group, has been added to the list.
At present, the total number of Ukrainians unaccounted for stands at 56.
Meanwhile, according to verified information, no Ukrainians are among the injured or dead from the disaster so far.
Nepal's army and police are continuing search-and-rescue operations, while Ukraine is coordinating efforts to locate and evacuate its citizens in tandem with other foreign countries.
A devastating flood had struck the border region of Nepal and Tibet. In addition, we reported that as of August 26, 53 Ukrainians had been reported missing amid the natural disaster.
