Prodigies are children who demonstrate extraordinary abilities in various fields from an early age: music, math, art, or science. Their talents often amaze the world, but the fate of such children does not always turn out well.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the greatest composers of all time, showed his musical talents at the age of three. By the time he was five, he was playing the harpsichord and violin and composing his own music. At the age of eight, Mozart wrote his first symphony, and by the time he was 16, he had composed four operas and 13 symphonies.

His father, Leopold Mozart, actively fostered his son's talent by organizing concert tours across Europe. However, despite his fame, Mozart's life was short: he died at the age of 35 due to illness, leaving behind more than 600 pieces of music. His music is still considered the pinnacle of classical art, and his life remains an inspiration to many.

Blaise Pascal

Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician, physicist, and philosopher, impressed with his abilities even as a child. At the age of four, he taught himself geometry, and by the time he was 16, he had written a paper on conic sections that impressed even René Descartes.

Pascal also invented a mechanical calculator known as a pascaline, which became the prototype of modern computing devices. His contributions to mathematics, physics, and philosophy remain significant, although he died at the age of 39 due to health problems.

Pascal is also known for his philosophical works, in particular the Thoughts, which influenced the development of European thought. His work in hydrodynamics and probability theory remains relevant to this day.

Kim Ung-yong

Kim Ung-yong, a Korean prodigy, could speak several languages at the age of two, and at three he was solving complex math problems. His IQ is 210 points, which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

At the age of seven, Kim was invited to NASA to perform scientific calculations. He received his doctorate in physics at the age of 15 but later decided to return to Korea to teach.

Kim Ung-yong often says that happiness is more important to him than fame, and he encourages people to develop their talents without pressure from society. His story reminds us that genius can be a burden if it is not supported psychologically.

Shakuntala Devi

Shakuntala Devi, known as the "human computer," was born in India and demonstrated incredible mathematical abilities at the age of three. She could perform complex calculations in her head, including multiplying multi-digit numbers and extracting roots.

In 1977, she set a world record by multiplying two 13-digit numbers in 28 seconds. Shakuntala Devi also wrote several books on mathematics and numerology, becoming an inspiration to many.

She passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy that proves that the human mind can reach incredible heights. Her work in mathematics is still used to educate and inspire new generations.

William James Sidis

William James Sidis, an American prodigy, could read at the age of one and a half, and by the age of eight, he spoke seven languages, including his own, invented language, Vendorhood.

At the age of 11, he became a student at Harvard but later decided to lead a reclusive life, avoiding fame. Sidis worked at a simple job but continued to pursue science. He died at the age of 46, leaving behind numerous mathematical works.

His life has become an example of how extraordinary abilities can be both a blessing and a curse. Sidis also wrote philosophical works, which, unfortunately, remained little known due to his isolation from society.
