RBC-Ukraine has compiled a list of destinations that are perfect for a weekend getaway or a summer vacation.

Synevyr Lake, Zakarpattia region

Synevyr is Ukraine’s largest high-altitude lake and one of the Carpathians’ most famous natural landmarks. It sits nearly 1,000 meters above sea level and is surrounded by dense coniferous forests.

The water is so clear that on sunny days, you can see the bottom near the shore. The lake is beautiful at any time of year, but it is especially stunning in autumn, when the surrounding forests take on golden and crimson hues.

Svityaz, Volyn region

Svityaz is the deepest lake in Ukraine, often referred to as the Ukrainian sea. It is part of the Shatsk Lakes and is famous for its crystal-clear water and sandy beaches.

It is the largest and one of the deepest natural lakes in Ukraine, with a maximum depth of about 58.4 meters.

On hot summer days, the water warms up quite quickly, making Svityaz one of the most popular destinations for a summer getaway.

Blue Lakes, Chernihiv region

The Blue Lakes became popular thanks to the unusual color of their water. Their rich turquoise hue is caused by quartz sand found at the bottom.

The pine forest surrounding the lakes, clean air, and crystal-clear water make this one of the most picturesque places in Ukraine.
