At the first stage of the new World Cup season, the leader of the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team, Taisiia Onofriichuk, showed phenomenal dominance, setting a personal record for the number of gold medals won, according to the official website of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

Solo show in Sofia

The start of the world season in Sofia, Bulgaria, turned into a true solo show for the 17-year-old Ukrainian.

Taisia demonstrated perfect preparation, winning not only the prestigious all-around competition but also collecting a record haul of medals in individual events.

How the Ukrainian gymnast performed in finals

In the finals of individual apparatus, the Ukrainian gymnast continued her dominance.

Ball – 29.000 points (1st place). Onofriichuk narrowly beat Bulgarian Stiliana Nikolova by just 0.1 point, leaving Italian Sofia Raffaeli in third.

Hoop – 30.400 points (1st place). The Ukrainian gymnast posted the highest score in the final, earning 14.000 points for difficulty – the best result among all competitors.

Ribbon – 29.200 points (1st place). She narrowly beat her closest rival, “neutral” Belarusian Alina Gornosko, by just 0.050 points.

New record for Taisia

Three victories in individual apparatus finals, combined with her all-around triumph, earned Onofriichuk four gold medals at a single World Cup stage. This became a new personal record for the athlete.

Previously, the Ukrainian’s maximum was three golds, which she won at the Sofia World Cup stage last season.
